The surface of this table is tiled in an irregular pattern and set within heavily carved plaster to offset the smooth gloss of the tile. It is intricate and made with care, but will mark, and as the table ages, the plaster will darken and so the contrast of the pattern increases as the tiles remain white. This table found its inspiration in the centuries old relics of tile work and mosaic floors that now sit broken and worn, today finding their significance altered to the story they tell and not the splendour they were born of.
